You cut off 10–20 hairs from your pet, put them into a small paper or plastic bag and stick it onto the submission form from your order confirmation at the marked spot. You send both to us by post. At the same time, you fill in our online questionnaire with your personal order number. The sample is then analysed and you receive the written evaluation as a PDF by email.

In contrast to immunological reactions, classic allergies are not to the fore here. Possible triggers could include certain protein sources, types of grain or added ingredients. The causes of such reactions can vary greatly from person to person.

Animals often experience intolerances to certain ingredients in food. These include protein sources such as beef, chicken, or fish, as well as certain grains like wheat or corn. Additives and preservatives can also be poorly tolerated by some animals.

Micronutrients can make an important contribution to basic processes in the body, such as normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of the immune system. As most micronutrients cannot be produced by the body itself, a balanced diet is important to meet individual requirements.

Pets can also have an increased need for vitamins, minerals and trace elements in certain life situations – such as high physical stress, changes in everyday life or environmental influences. Possible indications could include a change in activity, general tiredness or abnormalities in the skin and coat. If you notice such changes, it may make sense to take a closer look at your pet’s diet and environment.

Macronutrients are nutrients that the body needs in large quantities, primarily for energy supply. Macronutrients include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids, on the other hand, do not provide direct energy but fulfill important supporting functions in metabolism and contribute to numerous bodily processes.

Since our method is not a biochemical blood measurement, you can usually carry out the test even if your animal is receiving medication – for example cortisone, antibiotics, painkillers or a worming treatment. Please state the current medications and supplementary feed in the online questionnaire – this helps us with the interpretation. Any change to the medication should be discussed exclusively with your vet.

Yes. The test is independent of any ongoing veterinary treatment and does not interfere with it. However, it does not replace a veterinary assessment: in the case of acute complaints or signs of illness, please always contact your vet first.

For the sample, the hairs should be clean and dry. So try not to bathe your animal immediately before taking the sample, and do not take the hairs directly from a freshly treated spot, for example after a spot-on product. Otherwise, externally applied grooming and anti-parasite products are unproblematic for taking the sample – feel free to mention them in the online questionnaire.

Once the hair sample has reached us, the evaluation usually takes around 18 working days. With the express service, this time is shortened accordingly. You will automatically receive an email as soon as the personal evaluation for your animal is ready.

You receive the evaluation as a PDF document by email. That way you can open it on your smartphone, tablet or computer and print it out yourself if you wish. There is no additional postal delivery.

The evaluation works with clear scales and plain terms: „Deficiency“ points to areas in which our analysis shows a distinctly noticeable expression. „Need“ describes a more moderate observation, where you could pay more conscious attention to certain feed components or routines in everyday life. The percentage values next to them express the intensity of the individual resonance. Both terms are meant as an impulse for reflection and do not replace a veterinary diagnosis.

No, we deliberately do not send a test kit. Instead, after your order you receive your personal submission form as a PDF by email to print out yourself. You put your animal’s hair sample into a small paper or plastic bag and stick it onto the printed submission form at the marked spot. You place both into a normal envelope and send it to us. This saves shipping time and packaging waste and speeds up the process for you.

Depending on the payment method, it can take up to 24 hours for the confirmation with the submission form to reach you. Please also check your spam or promotions folder first. If you still have not found anything after 24 hours, write to us at info@medicross.com – we will then send you the confirmation manually.

Each test is designed for one animal, as the evaluation is created individually. If you would like to test several animals, please order a separate test for each animal.

After your order you have a 14-day right of withdrawal – but only as long as you have not yet downloaded your submission form. Downloading the submission form starts the service, and the right of withdrawal expires early. Once the 14-day period has passed or the submission form has already been downloaded, cancellation is no longer possible. As long as both conditions are met, simply send us an email with your order number to info@medicross.com.
